Located on the valley floor between Murren and Wengen/Grindelwald, this is the ideal resort for those wanting real choice with their Jungfrau Region ski pass. With pistes above 2,500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season to give access to over 200km of downhill skiing and 131 individual pistes.

Access to the slopes is via very civilised (and punctual) Swiss trains and you can often ski right back to the village in January and February. The Jungfrau area caters for all abilities, from beginner to expert.

Surrounded by a vista of epic mountains, you'll be treated to views of the Eiger as you cruise Lauterbrunnen's north face; visit the Schilthorn Piz Gloria rotating restaurant at 2,970m above Murren, and relive the epic ski chase from the 1969 James Bond movie 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'.

Non-skiers can also enjoy the amazing toboggan runs, including the 15km Big Pintenfritz - the longest in Europe!

ON THE MOUNTAIN

Lauterbrunnen is a haven for the beginner or intermediate skier and snowboarder, offering sweeping reds and scenic blues. Expert and advanced skiers generally strike gold in the powder-rich off-piste areas, and snow is good here all season long and well-service by snow cannons.

It's not just the skiing that adds to the Ski Miquel experience - From Lauterbrunnen you can access the mountain in a variety of different ways, climbing into the clouds via gondola and mountain train, or making the most of the groomed pistes via the high-speed chairlifts. Meanwhile, the piste map will be in safe hands all holiday, as your Ski Miquel guide will lead you to the freshest snow and best runs on the mountain, leaving you to enjoy the great sights and fluffy turns.

APRES-SKI

The Chalet Rosa and Hotel Silberhorn provide comfortable lounges and tasty menus to enjoy in the evening, although anyone looking to explore the village will find Lauterbrunnen to be quiet and generally relaxed. The boozy, late-night crowd don't visit here and a modest selection of bars and restaurants will be enough to satisfy you when the chalet team have their night off (Wednesdays). Overall your Ski Miquel chalet/hotel will provide the best night in town in which to unwind after another thrilling day on the snow.

Coronavirus update & advice for guests

Please understand that we are receiving a large number of telephone calls and e-mails at the moment, so we ask you to be patient and we will respond to all enquiries as soon as we are able to.

The coronavirus situation has had a huge impact on travel and holiday plans, and we regret to say that all our resorts have now been closed for the remainder of the 2019/20 winter season as a precaution to help restrict the spread of coronavirus in Europe.

The sudden closure of resorts in this manner is something that is unprecedented in the entire 40-year history of Ski Miquel’s operation, and we are of course very saddened by this outcome.

We would like to thank you for your support and co-operation at this difficult time, and we hope to be able to take you away on holiday again in the future.  In this respect, please rest assured that we will be working hard to ensure our prices for next winter are released as soon as possible, so that you will then be able to look forward to your next ski trip.

If you are in resort

For those of you who are currently still out in resort, please rest assured that the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is our highest priority.  We will ensure that we get you home to the UK as soon as practically possible, and we will continue to provide further updates via your Resort Manager.

As your holiday was curtailed following departure due to circumstances beyond our control, refunds will not be made for any unused portion of your package holiday.  However, we will of course support you in any claim you wish to submit to your insurance company.

If your holiday was due in the coming weeks

Due to the circumstances, we have had to cancel all future holidays for this season.

In accordance with advice received from our industry bodies, it is recommended that you contact your insurance company and make a claim for travel disruption as a result of enforced closure of our chalet-hotels and resorts.

We will of course assist wherever possible by supporting you with any documentation (e.g. copy invoices) or any other evidence you may require in order for you to pursue your claim successfully, and we will also be able to issue a refund for any extras (i.e. lift passes and/or equipment rental).  Please contact us to request a refund for your extras and provide us with your booking reference and bank account details to enable us to process the refund for you.

A refund for the main holiday cost will be provided in the event that your insurance company does not honour your claim.  Should you require Ski Miquel to provide a refund for the main holiday cost, please provide us with written confirmation of the rejection of your claim from your insurance company.

Alternatively, if you would like to have first choice of the availability for the next winter season, Ski Miquel will offer you a 5% discount on any holiday that is available, and we would simply be able to carry your funds over as a credit towards your next holiday.

If you decided not to travel of your own accord

Ski Miquel policy has been to follow advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and local regional government for each ski resort, thus continuing to run our holidays unless instructed not to do so by either the UK government or local regional authorities.

If you decided not to travel of your own accord and the FCO advice did not advise against travel at that time, we are not able to offer any refund for your holiday and our usual cancellation terms will apply.  Equally, if we have made the decision to cancel holidays to a given destination and you had chosen to cancel of your own accord prior to us taking that action, we will not offer a refund retrospectively.

We will of course be pleased to assist by providing any documentation you may need to support your claim to your insurance company.
