There are plenty of reasons to take an all inclusive ski and
snowboard break in Baqueira, though most tempting of all is the
vast number of runs on offer. Boasting a number of testing off
piste areas as well as wide, sweeping bowls for beginners, the
mountain has plenty to offer for anyone wishing to make the most of
the ski guiding experience.
Baqueira's biggest plus point however is its snowfall record.
For over 25 years, the conditions here have matched the Alps; any
dry days are regularly offset by the snow cannon installations on
the mountain. You won't waste hours looking for snow on a Ski
Miquel holiday here.
ON THE MOUNTAIN
Anyone looking for evidence of Baqueira's growing reputation
should first scan the A-list clientele that frequent here. The
Spanish royal family have made the mountains here their winter
holiday destination of choice in recent years, but don't let that
put you off - on an all inclusive holiday with Ski Miquel, we'll
find the most exciting (and reasonably priced) stop off points for
you to eat during the day.
Elsewhere, skiers and boarders will notice lack of hustle and
bustle. In contrast to a wide range of alpine resorts, the queues
for chairlifts and gondolas remains fantastically people and stress
free. That, matched with some of Spain's best ski slopes, means you
get more powder for your pound - all 93km of the stuff. Of these,
there are four beginner runs, 27 intermediate, 21 for advanced and
four for the experts.
You won't be bored in Baqueira. Away from the entertainment and
good vibes at the Chalet Hotel Salana, you'll discover plenty to
do. Traditional Spanish and French cuisine can be found in several
exquisite restaurants; late night parties can often be found in one
of the bars and discos in the town. Anyone looking for a more
gentle experience should experience the local views -
Baqueira is surround by "Romanesque" architecture and a number of
beautiful mountain lakes.
